What is Bali Luxury Yacht Bureau?
Bali Luxury Yacht Bureau is a white-glove charter brokerage curating private motor yachts, catamarans, sailing yachts, and phinisi cruisers departing Benoa Harbor for half-day Nusa Penida cruises, sunset Bali coastal sails, multi-day Komodo voyages, and bespoke anniversary itineraries across the Indonesian archipelago.
From the moment a guest arrives at Benoa Harbor’s private berth, the rhythm of an Indonesian yachting holiday unfolds with a deliberate, unhurried elegance. Crisp white linen, chilled towels scented with lemongrass, a captain in starched whites, and the soft hush of a teak deck under bare feet — these are the small theatres that distinguish a true luxury charter from a mere boat trip. We arrange them all, and we arrange them entirely on your behalf.
What we do, and what we never do
We are not a single-vessel operator. We do not own one boat and try to make it suit every guest. Instead, we maintain working relationships with Bali’s most discerning yacht owners and skippers, allowing us to match the right hull, the right crew, the right galley, and the right itinerary to each specific charter brief. A honeymoon couple wanting Champagne, a hibachi grill on the foredeck, and total privacy for two does not need the same vessel as a multi-generational family of nine flying in from Singapore who want a stable catamaran with kayaks and inflatable trampolines for the children. We pair yacht to guest, never the reverse.
Our remit is consultative. After an initial brief — usually a fifteen-minute conversation by WhatsApp or email — we propose a shortlist of two or three vessels with full specifications, a draft itinerary, an itemised quotation, and a sample provisioning list. Once a charter is confirmed, our concierge team handles every operational detail: pre-clearance with the harbour master, in-villa pickup with chilled face cloths, dietary arrangements with the head chef, dive briefings if required, helicopter transfers to remote anchorages, and quiet on-shore reservations at the islands you visit.
Departures from Benoa, the rest of the archipelago at your wake
Benoa Harbor, on Bali’s south-eastern shoulder, is the operational base for the overwhelming majority of Indonesia’s private charter fleet. From its protected basin you can be on flat water heading toward the Nusa Islands within twenty minutes, dropping anchor off Crystal Bay, Manta Point, or the limestone cathedrals of Kelingking inside two hours. Push further and the Gili archipelago, the volcanic flank of Lombok, the pink-sand beaches of Komodo, the manta cleaning stations of Cendrawasih, and the empty atolls of Wakatobi all become realistic destinations on a properly provisioned charter.
The most popular charters from Benoa fall into three tempos. A day charter — eight to ten hours — typically runs to Nusa Penida and Lembongan with snorkelling, paddleboarding, a leisurely beachside lunch on Mushroom Bay, and a return to Benoa under a coral sky. A weekend charter of two to three nights extends the same arc with overnight anchorage at Lembongan, possibly a fast hop to the Gili islands, and breakfast on deck in glassy water. A signature voyage of five to ten nights crosses to Komodo, taking in Padar’s three-bay viewpoint, the manta channel of Manta Alley, the pink beach at Pantai Merah, and the hill-top vistas of Gili Lawa Darat. Each of these tempos suits a different sort of guest, a different sort of vessel, and a different conversation with our office.
The fleet, in one breath
The vessels we charter range from sleek 22-metre Italian motor yachts ideal for couples seeking pace and a glassy-water sundowner, through to a 35-metre traditional phinisi schooner — hand-built in Sulawesi from ironwood — accommodating eight guests across four ensuite cabins with a saloon trimmed in raw silk and antique brass. We also broker a small selection of high-performance sailing catamarans for guests who prefer the silence of canvas, a 28-metre expedition vessel for serious diving charters, and an 18-metre flybridge cruiser priced as an entry point to Bali yachting without compromising on crew or service.
For a full breakdown of yacht categories, day rates, and weekly hire, our main yacht charter page sets out the comparison table and tier-by-tier pricing. For a closer look at which vessel suits which guest, our curated yacht profiles describe seven of our most-requested boats by character and ideal itinerary.
What service really means at this end of the market
The phrase “luxury yacht charter” is overworked, so let us specify what it actually buys you with us. It buys a captain who has navigated these waters for at least a decade and reads the tide rips at Ceningan Strait by feel rather than by chart. It buys a steward whose sole responsibility on a four-cabin yacht is the comfort of eight guests — refilling glasses before they are empty, anticipating which towel you want, knowing without asking that the espresso comes black and the children take their orange juice over crushed ice. It buys a chef who has trained in either Sydney, Bangkok, or Tokyo, who has the discipline to source line-caught yellowfin from the Jimbaran auction at six in the morning and serve it as ceviche on deck at one. It buys hot water in every shower, marine air-conditioning that actually copes with equatorial humidity, and bed linen at four hundred thread count.
It also buys time. Time without negotiation, without sales pressure, without the compromise of a shared boat. The yacht is yours, the crew is yours, the route is yours to amend at three in the afternoon if a particular reef looks irresistible from the flybridge. We have built the bureau on the principle that the most valuable currency our guests possess is unhurried, uninterrupted hours — and that a chartered yacht, properly run, is the single best instrument for converting that currency into memory.
Who books with us
The bureau’s repeat clientele is roughly evenly split between three groups. Owners and long-stay guests of Bali’s private estate villas, who use a yacht the way a household in St-Tropez uses a tender — for lunch on a quiet beach, for an evening transfer, for a fortnight away from the city. Concierges from a short list of five-star hotels in Seminyak, Nusa Dua, and Ubud, for whom we are the standing yacht supplier and who route guest enquiries to our office on first call. And anniversary or honeymoon couples — usually flying in from Sydney, Singapore, Hong Kong, Dubai, or Mumbai — for whom a single perfect day on the water is the reason for the trip.
If you fit any of those profiles, or simply have a brief that does not match the brochure of any of the larger operators, we would welcome a quiet conversation. Our diary is held loosely; we charter selectively, we keep a small black book of available vessels, and we treat each booking as a one-off rather than a transaction. For pricing details and live availability, our 2026 pricing breakdown is the most direct place to start.
How to begin
The simplest route is a brief email to the address below, including your dates, the size of your party, your preferred tempo (day, weekend, voyage), and any non-negotiables — pets, dietary requirements, mobility considerations, the presence of children, or a preference for sail over motor. Within a working day we return a short proposal with two or three vessel options, an indicative cost, and a draft itinerary. If the proposal interests you, we move to a contracted brief and a fifty-percent deposit holds the dates. The remaining fifty percent is settled on the morning of departure, in person, alongside a final confirmation of route and provisioning. We accept bank transfer, USD or IDR, and major card payments through our payment partner.
